The Power of Small Spaces
Andre and Simone’s bathroom transformation was all about bringing intention and intimacy to an often-overlooked space. As part of a broader remodel, the goal was to create a bathroom that felt luxurious and modern without being cold—something sculptural, moody, and deeply personal.
This project reflects how even small spaces can become meaningful destinations when designed with thoughtfulness, texture, and light in mind.
Design Challenges + Solutions
Challenges:
Make a small footprint feel impactful and spacious
Blend sculptural modern style with organic warmth
Maximize functionality without visual clutter
Solutions:
Anchored the space with dramatic vertical tilework in moody green hues
Selected a floating white oak vanity to bring warmth and keep the floor open
Used backlit circular mirrors to add softness and dimension without bulk
Layered mixed metal finishes (matte black + brass) for visual depth
Integrated recessed lighting and under-cabinet glow for modern ambiance
Favorite Details
The bold tile wrapping vertically behind the mirror—drawing the eye up and adding drama
The use of lighting to create intimacy: soft glows instead of overhead glare
A compact layout that feels high-end and spa-like without overdesigning
Design That Brings You Back to Center
This bathroom became a mini retreat for the homeowners—a calming space to start and end the day. The design proves that even compact rooms can feel like luxury experiences when thoughtfully layered.
