“Great design starts in the details.”
Gabriella Mendoza’s passion for design began early—at just 11 years old, she was helping in her family’s house painting business. With over 14 years of hands-on experience in the design and construction industry, Gabriella has worn many hats: Lead Painter, Retail Manager, Color Consultant, Interior Designer, and now, Founder of Mavis Design.
Her education includes a Certificate in Interior Design, an AAS in Interior Architecture & Design, and a specialized Certificate in Kitchen & Bath Design. Gabriella thrives on the intricate details and thoughtful refinements that bring a space to life, believing that great design starts in the details.
An active NKBA member, Gabriella was honored at the 2024 NKBA Peak Awards—taking 1st Place in the Kitchen Design category and 3rd Place in the Bathroom category in the Student Competition. Today, she brings her award-winning perspective, technical training, and creative vision to every Mavis Design project.

The Process
Phase 1 - Initial Design Meeting
A thorough evaluation of your space & project. Precise dimensions are taken to ensure installation accuracy. These facts are then used to determine the total project estimate.
Phase 2 - Conceptual Design
Early concepts are determined for the space and a unique style is created. Preliminary floorplans or designs may be presented as well. Here in this phase, we build your style and vision for the space.
Phase 4 - Design Development
Final approvals are made, materials are ordered, delivered, and inspected, and final construction plans are made. A final project timeline is also confirmed and it’s time to start the next phase!
Phase 5 - Installation
An extension of the design development phase, installation turns 2D plans into 3D spaces. This phase includes demolition, construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and more!
Phase 6 - Completion
Installation is completed and the space is finished. Any last-minute touch-ups or adjustments are made. A final walkthrough and inspection is done to ensure you are happy with your new space!
Phase 3 - Schematic Design
Samples of materials or products are sourced for approval. Showroom visits and project site visits may be required. Floorplans or construction documents are started and the project starts to take shape.
