Behind the Design: Inside Our “Park Ridge Modern Textures” Project
There’s something truly special about designing a home that feels collected, luxurious, and one-of-a-kind. That was the goal behind our latest residential remodel in Park Ridge, IL—a project we’ve named Park Ridge Modern Textures.
This design focused on transforming the powder room, living room, and dining room into richly layered spaces filled with pattern, contrast, and material interest. From bold wallpaper selections to tailored built-ins, every choice was made to elevate everyday living with modern luxury.
Let’s take you behind the design.
Design Direction: Modern Luxury Meets Textural Depth
From the beginning, our client was drawn to the idea of a refined, modern aesthetic—but not one that felt cold or minimal. Instead, we leaned into a palette of tactile materials, brass accents, and bold contrast to create a sense of depth and richness.
Across all three spaces, we emphasized the power of texture:
Neutral velvets and black leather in the living room brought in soft drama
Brass lighting and fixtures added warmth and polish
Striking wallpaper patterns grounded the powder room and dining room with personality
Dining Room: A Custom Built-In That Steals the Show
The dining room presented one of our favorite opportunities: a custom built-in feature that’s as functional as it is stunning.
We used Bedrosians Reine picket tile in black—a subtle, modern texture that catches the light just enough—and paired it with a polished marble-look quartz countertop for contrast. The result is moody, elegant, and totally unique to this home.
To add softness and balance, we used wallpaper with a subtle pattern and selected brass and glass sconces that help draw the eye and warm up the space.

Powder Room: Drama in a Small Space
Designing a powder room is always a balancing act—especially when your goal is maximum impact in a minimal footprint.
For this space, we leaned into high drama with careful restraint. A bold wallpaper adds instant personality, but we kept the scale and tone balanced so the room wouldn’t feel too chaotic or busy. Paired with clean-lined fixtures and metallic accents, the final look is elevated and unforgettable—exactly what we wanted for a space every guest would see.

Living Room: Creating Warmth in a Long, Narrow Space
The living room and dining room are technically separate, but they flow into one another—divided only by existing architectural pillars and challenged by limited natural light.
To address the room’s long, narrow footprint, we used furniture placement to create cozy zones while still allowing for movement and conversation. Deep black leather upholstery, neutral-toned velvets, and layered patterns gave the room a luxe, inviting energy.
Thoughtful lighting and reflective materials helped combat the lack of natural light, creating a moody atmosphere that feels intentional and beautifully composed.
